Design Technology
Led by Mrs MacKellar
Design and technology offers children a chance to use creative thinking and activity, with a defined purpose and tangible outcome. The children are taught to combine their designing and making skills with their knowledge and understanding to design and make products. Children are encouraged to be innovative and take risks as individuals or as part of groups.
As a subject, design and technology combines skills, knowledge, concepts and values to enable children to tackle real - life problems. It can improve analysis, problem solving, practical capability and evaluation skills. Through the DT curriculum, children could be inspired to be engineers, designers, chefs, architects and more.
Our Christian Curriculum encourages children to grow physically, emotionally, spiritually and creativity in a safe environment where they are inspired.

"We have ‘crossed lessons’ to do our DT projects. They are good fun and we get to be creative plus use the knowledge we have already got." Seth Year 6
"We have to plan, draft and think about tools and equipment we need before we start. You can adapt your ideas if they aren’t working. Because you have planned you are more organised and are likely to get it right." Jemima Year 6
"I love DT and making thing as it’s really fun and I get to be creative." Adam Year 5
